Built-In Filament Holder

Built-In Filament Holder

thingiverse

A simple and sleek filament holder designed specifically for the Prusa I3 Rework model. To create this holder, print the clip that attaches to the filament spool with its flat base facing upwards. The other part should be printed with the L-shaped side as its base. I achieved excellent results using a 0.2 infill setting, but more infill would likely yield an even sturdier piece. It's recommended not to use less infill than this minimum requirement. To assemble the holder, attach the pieces together using zip ties as shown in the accompanying images. These ties provide ample support for the weight of the filament spool. The clip part may be slightly too tight for some spools, so consider printing it at 99% size to ensure a proper fit. However, do not resize the other piece. This design has been tested with Hatchbox filament but can work well with various types of filament. To print this holder, follow these settings: Printer: Prusa I3 Rework Rafts: No preference Supports: None required Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: A minimum of 0.2 is recommended After printing, use zip ties to attach the two pieces together as depicted in the images. These ties provide more than enough support for the weight of the filament spool.
