To fix missing Chinese name map files in 3dsmax 9.0 or higher versions, ensure VR2.0 is available on your system. If Chinese names are still undisplayed, check the control panel and add the Chinese language package by following these steps: In the control panel, click "Date, Time, Language and Regional Options" then choose "Regional and Language Options." From here select the "Languages" tab, install East Asian languages files, advance to non-Unicode programs language setting and change it to Chinese(PRC).
