Building Blocks of (a + b)^3

Building Blocks of (a + b)^3

thingiverse

This lesson illustrates visually how (a + b)^3 breaks down into its component parts: a^3 + 3(a^2)b + 3ab^2 + b^3. Students will take these building blocks and assemble them into a cube with sides measuring a + b. By calculating the volume of each individual block, they'll discover that their combined volumes equal the total volume of the entire cube.
