The Veyron, a mid-engined sports car designed and developed by Germany's Volkswagen Group, is manufactured in France by Bugatti. This supercar, named after racing driver Pierre Veyron, boasts a top speed of 407 km/h. Named Car of the Decade and best car award (2000-2009) by Top Gear, the standard Bugatti Veyron also won Top Gear's Best Car Driven All Year award in 2005. The Super Sport version holds a Guinness World Record as the fastest street-legal production car, reaching 431.072 km/h. The Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is the world's fastest roadster at an averaged top speed of 408.84 km/h. Hartmut Warkuss designed the Veyron, with exterior design by Jozef KabaÅ and engineering under Wolfgang Schreiber's guidance. The car features a Burmester Audiosysteme sound system. Special variants are available, including customisable colours through the Veyron 16.4 Configurator application on Bugatti's official website. Production of the iconic Bugatti Veyron ceased in late 2014.
