Buffer Tube Cover
thingiverse
This is a custom-designed Buffer Tube Cover specifically made to slip snugly over a standard mil-spec buffer tube of an AR15 airsoft rifle or pistol. Not a stock, and not intended to be shouldered - this clever cover only serves as a cheek rest and adds style to your AR or other airsoft variant. For smaller printers, we offer a two-piece design that gets the job done efficiently. However, if you have access to a large enough printer, a single-piece model is available for your convenience. To ensure perfect fitment without wasting precious filament, we've also included a "test" piece in our design. To install: Begin by printing out the test piece to verify fitment before proceeding with the actual cover and pin. The installation process requires patience, so take your time. For optimal results, use the two-piece model and glue them together once aligned on the buffer tube. Placing a small patch of felt velcro at the end of the buffer tube helps with fitting. Next, carefully measure out to the center of the last hole on the buffer tube, and mark the same distance on the cover's underside. Now, drill out a 1/4" hole in the marked area. Drop the pin into the newly created hole and secure it by either gluing or soldering (with heat) for a more permanent attachment. If you're feeling adventurous, choose to remove the installation pin again by carefully drilling it out, then proceed to drill a hole for easier removal. DISCLAIMER: We're not responsible for how this design is used - upload and intended use of an airsoft gun are at your discretion. The absence of a firing mechanism or any firearm conversion capabilities make this just another tubular piece of plastic in its original form.
