Buffalo 15 Drill Press Belt Guard
prusaprinters
The design is pretty close but not an exact replica. The "Buffalo" scrip is slightly larger than the original, and the edges don't have a raised lip like the original. It fits ok around the drill press casting. It can wiggle around a bit if not tightened down, but the original fits the same way. It might be possible to print it at like 97% to make it fit better but I haven't tried it.At some point these guards didn't have "Buffalo" cast in, instead there was a decal of the company logo. I think the Canadian branded version of these also had a decal. It was recreated by making a photogrammetry model, then making a new model about the same shape as the scanned model. If you want to edit it, an obj file and the fusion .f3d file are supplies. The fusion timeline is a mess so you have been warned.I 3d printed this so there is no draft for casting, you would need to modify it for casting. It appears the originals were die cast in some die cast alloy. It could be aluminum but it seems too smooth and dark to be aluminum.I printed this tilted to fit my printer and to get a successful print. Lots of walls seems to have made it pretty strong. Spending more time sanding will make it look better.
