Wat Plai Laem Temple stands proudly on Ko Samui Island in Thailand. Like its neighbor Wat Phra Yai, also known as Big Buddha Temple, this temple was built relatively recently. Instead of Gautama Buddha, the main statue here is Guanyin, a revered figure symbolizing compassion and mercy. Carved in traditional Chinese style, Guanyin's majestic form boasts 18 arms, situated on an open-air platform within an ornate ubosot pavilion surrounded by the tranquil temple lake.
