Buddha Relief
myminifactory
I've been crafting lithophanes for years, but creating bas reliefs has proven to be a challenge. I'm familiar with Blender scripting, yet it's still too complex for me. Recently, I stumbled upon depth maps in black and white that can produce impressive reliefs when converted into lithophanes. To refine the mesh further, I've used tools like MeshMixer and VisCAM. One of my projects involved converting a picture to create a 3D-printable Buddha relief, as seen here: http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~lizhang/courses/cs766-2008f/projects/phs/students/barnard/results/buddha/depthMap.png Now, I'm on the hunt for an easier way to generate depth maps.
