Buddha protected by the naga

thingiverse

Buddha safeguarded by a mighty naga, situated south-east of Angkor Thom in Cambodia, dating back to the mid-12th century and crafted from sturdy sandstone. Currently housed at the Musée du Cinquantenaire in Brussels, Belgium. The Buddha is seated in deep meditation on Mucilinda, a fearsome serpent whose body assumes the form of a throne, shielding the enlightened one from torrential rains that fall during his meditative state following his momentous awakening. At once both a humble monk and an authoritative king, Buddha's attire consists of a simple yet elegant robe and a majestic diadem adorned with intricate details.
