The MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner was used to scan a dark object that had been treated with dry shampoo powder. The powder is effective but has an unpleasant odor and can be costly when coating big items. To enhance the capture and minimize occlusions, particularly under the chin, the object was placed on a raised box.
