Titled "Buddha (Fragment of a Stele) (Head)," this sculpture is from China during the Eastern Wei dynasty, approximately dating back to the mid-6th century. The artwork is made of limestone with pigment traces and measures 80 cm in height, 26.7 cm wide, and 19.7 cm deep. Its base has a diameter of 29.2 cm. Classified as a sculpture, it's part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection, gifted by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Morse in honor of A. Schoenlicht in 1963 (accession number: 63.25). The piece underwent an initial scan at NYC Museum MediaLab Meetup 3D Funday, conducted using the Sense 3D hand-held scanner; however, its quality might be rough due to the scanning process.
