Budaschnozzle to J-Head Adapter
thingiverse
Adapt your Budaschnozzle to a J-Head type mount for Wired1's "Highly accessible vertXtruder for OB1.4". This extruder design doesn't support normal shoe mounting like many Wade type counterparts. I've included two versions of the adapter: one with a circular groove and another with anti-rotation features, perfect for through bolt retainer designs. In the latest update, I enhanced the anti-rotation version by reducing the screw engagement area diameter from 2.9mm to 2.75mm. This ensures easy screw passage with minimal effort while providing a stiffer mounting. As this is my first 3D model in 123D, and I no longer have access to my preferred software, it's time for me to learn new skills! Print the adapter, but be cautious of sagging upper parts; use cooling or layer delays to prevent this. My initial print had a 40% infill, which may change once I test it on my printer. Feel free to provide suggestions for improvement. Prepare the part by drilling the center hole with at least a 3mm bit, removing any strings or irregularities. Install the adapter by placing it in the vertXtruder body and clearing the screw holes with a 3mm drill bit. Be aware that this modification reduces the Z height of the OB1.4 printer; adjust the frame accordingly if necessary.
