You're here because you share a passion for Buckethead's exceptional guitar playing skills. I'm right there with you, and the idea of creating your own personalized Buckethead Action Figure is incredibly exciting. What could be better than paying homage to this musical genius? My hope is that a community of fellow Buckethead enthusiasts will come together to create some amazing stop-action videos that showcase their creativity. I'd like to extend my gratitude to thewhingingwizard, the original creator of the "Another Action Figure" model on Thingiverse. It served as an excellent starting point for our project. Please note that I didn't make the modifications myself; instead, I paid a friend who's skilled in 3D design $200 for their expertise and time. The only input I provided was making educated guesses about Buckethead's proportions based on various concert photos. If you're not satisfied with how things turned out, don't worry! Feel free to create your own version of the model, incorporating your own improvements. Please contribute them back to the open-source 3D community so that fellow Buckethead fans can appreciate and learn from your work. I'm eager to see how we can improve the hand design for better positioning. PRINTING COMMENTS AND TIPS I assume you'll want to print this model at its largest scale possible, making it easier to create stop-motion videos. To get started, print the guitar first – it's the largest piece and will set the scaling factor for all other components. With my Lulzbot Mini, I scaled the guitar up to 142% but rounded down to 140% to account for some margin of error. It's essential to note that the pins are quite fragile and prone to breaking, especially when handling the hand pieces. To avoid this issue, print one or two pins with your chosen scaling factor and take them to a hardware store. Measure their length using calipers or simply take them along to find an aluminum pole that matches their size. You can then use a hacksaw to cut the stock into lengths matching the printed pins, smooth out the edges with sandpaper or a metal file, and bore out the holes in the parts (hands, shoulders, hips, etc.) to fit the aluminum bar. For the remaining components, scale them up to match the guitar's scaling factor. Don't hesitate – get started on printing!
