You will find attached my proposal for NASA's Regolith Bucket Drum Challenge. This design is a simple and efficient solution that consists of an exterior and interior layout in which you will discover a drum capable of collecting the maximum amount of regolith with ease, also easy to manufacture. DESCRIPTION: The body of the drum is comprised of 3 segments with 3 scoops each. In each segment, I utilized separation plates to collect and prevent the diffusion of regolith. The scoops are designed to facilitate the rotation of the drum using a well-designed scoop blade layout. CONSTRUCTION: Designed using: Catia V5 Rendered on: Keyshot 5 SPECIFICATION: Maximum bucket drum mass: 4.993 kg Maximum bucket drum length: 359 mm Maximum bucket drum diameter: 450 mm The average captured volume of regolith: 20 liters MATERIALS USED: Scoop blades: Titanium Rest of the drum: Aluminum
