I wanted to adjust the speed of a 12v dc fan by regulating the voltage with an LM2596 buck converter, which I purchased from Amazon. I made an enclosure for it with a 4 pin fan connector. Required parts: - LM2596 (see pics) (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07DYP6L35/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - 1x female 4 pin fan connector housing and only 2x terminal crimp pins - 1x male 4 pin fan connector housing and only 2x terminal crimp pins - some piece of wire (22 awg) - 1x m3 hex nut and 1x m3x25 SHCS The buck converter can be hot when operating (depends on the load and the step-down voltage value) so for ventilation purpose, I designed the enclosure with many slots . In order to adjust the voltage, I cut a hole on the top above the adjusting screw. The picture from the printed parts are not the same as the uploaded Bottom.stl because after printing, I made some modification on the mounting holes.
