Bubo

Bubo

thingiverse

This owl is inspired by Bubo, the mythical bird from the movie "Clash of the Titans". First steps involve publishing on YouTube platforms. Completed project: YouTube video number three. To-do list includes improving software on GitHub and collecting tips. Unprinted items include Arduino Nano/Pro Mini microcontrollers, DF-Player modules, gyroscopes, boost converters, motor drivers, printed circuit boards, wires, solenoids, servos, ball bearings, neopixels, optic fibers, geared motors, rods, bolts, nuts, and brass knurled nuts. Post-printing steps involve attaching feathers to the owl's body. All feather parts should be printed in PLA plastic, while shell parts should be printed in PETG or ABS plastic. To shape the feathers, use a heat gun to mold them around the shell. Scale down the "BodyFeathers" part in your slicer for a better fit. Update: I've updated the schematic, excluding the gyro-board since it's not currently used in the software. The DF-Player is connected to be easily removable for uploading new sketches. A MOSFET switch controls the DC-DC converter, and its output should be set to 12 volts.
