Bubble Trivet cnc/laser
cults3d
This trivet sports a bubble pattern, carefully crafted from a photograph that served as its inspiration. Its resemblance to the Voroni pattern is uncanny, with only slightly rounded shapes setting it apart. In an effort to inject some variety into my trivet designs, I came up with the idea of a rounded square. My construction process took place on a desktop CNC machine courtesy of Stepcraft, utilizing 6 mm birch plywood and a 1.2 mm flute with a spiral-toothed design. A very dark veneer, possibly ebony in origin, adorns the top surface. A laser cutter could be an excellent alternative tool for creating a trivet like this one.
