Bubble Trivet cnc/laser
thingiverse
This trivet features a bubble pattern that was meticulously adapted from a photograph, showcasing an uncanny resemblance to the Voroni pattern with its rounded shapes. To inject some variety into trivet design, I cleverly created a rounded square. My build was executed on a desktop CNC machine by Stepcraft using 6 mm birch plywood and a spiral-toothed 1.2 mm flute. A very dark veneer, possibly ebony, was applied to the topside. A laser cutter could be an excellent alternative tool for creating one like this. Next, Photoshop was used to fine-tune the details. Finally, Illustrator was employed to meticulously trace the pixel image.
