BTT SKR Pro case for 2020 Extrusion
thingiverse
There weren't any cases for the SKR Pro board that I liked, so I designed my own. It's designed to be really easy to print and modify later - all the sides and bottom are separate pieces that screw on, so every piece prints flat and each side can be adjusted and reprinted if you need different openings for cables. Everything is held together with heat press M3 threaded inserts and M3 bolts. Fusion 360 export included if you want to modify it, though I didn't really focus on making it easy to modify later...it's a bit of a mess in there. On mine I cut the lid out of a sheet of acrylic so I can see what the board is doing, but a 3d printed lid is included. Items Needed =========== - M3 threaded inserts. The kind it is sized for are [like these](https://www.amazon.ca/iplusmile-Embedment-Threaded-Printing-Projects/dp/B087N4LVD1) with 2 knurled rings and a flat area at the bottom. - Soldering iron - M3 bolts - M3 hammer head nuts - Print all the parts. Print 5 of the clips Assembly ======= - Use a soldering iron to insert 3 threaded inserts into the base to screw the board to. - On each post, heat press in 5 threaded inserts - one in the top and bottom, and 3 on the sides that don't have a rounded edge. The rounded edge faces the inside of the case, and the holes on the inside are for the bolt to stick through if your bolts are too long. - On the clips insert a threaded insert into the top for the case to screw into. - There is one additional optional hole for a threaded insert on the bottom of the base - that was to attach a leg to it if it needs extra support on the outer edge. In my case I found I didn't need it. - Screw the posts to the base. The long sides should have 2 screw holes in each post, the shorter sides 1 hole. The rounded edge should face the middle. - Screw on the sides - Install the clips into the aluminum extrusion and line them up with the holes in the base. Then screw the base into them.
