An Outside Shock Cord Mount for Small Tubes Small tubes that don't have cord mounts in the motor-can are harder to mount a shock cord even with the Estes method. Everything just gets in the way. This is a solution for that. CA it to the side of the rocket tube, drill a hole in the center through the tube. Loop shock cord through it and onto your nose or tail cone. You can cover it with black electrical tape and it will almost disappear. You could also make a smaller hole and just tie a knot in it. I think looping it around is much nicer and when covered with tape it is not noticeable. Use flexible electrical tape. To get it started, put one end of the shock cord in the hole, thread it through and capture the end. At the mount point, thread the other end of the cord through the same hole and be sure the loop is around the body. You will have a double shock cord. To build it, stand it on its side and use a brim. Any filament, no supports. It takes only a few minutes to build one.
