Bravo-Tango-Seven-Two-Seven-Four, often referred to as BT-7274 or simply BT, is a seasoned Vanguard-class Titan of the Frontier Militia's elite Special Recon Squadron (SRS), piloted by Captain Tai Lastimosa up until his untimely demise at the start of the pivotal Battle of Typhon during Operation: Broadsword. After Lastimosa's tragic death and in a desperate bid to succeed, BT linked with then-Rifleman Jack Cooper, and together they fought their way across Typhon to complete Special Operation 217 and prevent the IMC from unleashing its devastating Fold Weapon on the Militia. In a final act of selflessness, BT sacrificed himself to destroy the Fold Weapon while shielding Cooper, securing a crucial victory for the Militia in the battle. It's possible that his AI somehow still exists, as evidenced by Jack's helmet flashing Morse code, querying "Jack?" For all intents and purposes, BT-7274 serves as the co-leader of Titanfall 2's single-player campaign, functioning as Jack Cooper's trusted ally and guardian. As a Vanguard-class Titan, BT is designed for high-risk operations in hostile territory and behind enemy lines. Equipped with various pieces of equipment reminiscent of older Titan designs like the Atlas, with an emphasis on survival over expendability, BT features two dashes and a rechargeable Bodyshield system. The Titan's versatility also allows it to equip and adapt multiple loadouts quickly, effortlessly equipping a VTOL Hover, Laser Core, or Particle Wall as needed. TF2 Achievement BT Prime Jack Cooper sits comfortably in the cockpit of BT. As an advanced Artificial Intelligence, BT-7274 can be seamlessly transferred between different Vanguard chassis using the SERE Kit; an emergency kit containing a Smart Pistol MK6, Data Knife, and the AI's datacore for use in critical situations where the Titan itself is rendered inoperable. This was utilized by Jack Cooper after the destruction of the original BT-7274 chassis, relocating the AI to the FS-1041 chassis. BT operates under three primary protocols; while the AI of BT-7274 exhibits self-awareness, it remains bound to several parameters to ensure mission success. These protocols are: Protocol One: Establish a Link with Pilot Protocol Two: Uphold the Mission Parameters Protocol Three: Protect the Pilot at All Costs To achieve these objectives, BT employs a neural link system, allowing the AI and the Pilot's mind to merge. The purpose of this system is unclear, but it likely enables the Pilot's actions to be efficiently translated into mechanical movements – for instance, controlling the Titan's limbs. While being piloted, the Vanguard's personality is suppressed, returning once the Pilot has disembarked. BT is outfitted with advanced sensor suites capable of long-range detection, biometric tracking, and signals intelligence. Two independent optics units are installed on the Titan's chassis, along with two Acolyte Pods on its back. BT's primary optic unit can also display holographic imagery. As a Vanguard-class Titan designed for reconnaissance and operations behind enemy lines, BT exhibits exceptional intelligence, situational awareness, and adaptability to dynamic battlefield conditions. Additionally, the Titan is equipped with a flamethrower used for generating Heat Shields and igniting campfires.
