Brushless gimbal for 10x zoom camera
thingiverse
This is a two-axis gimbal designed specifically for a high-zoom camera that I sourced from surveillzone.com, as no suitable pre-made option was available. To create my own custom gimbal, I took advantage of existing components from the cheap aluminum banggood gimbal, including the motors and controller. The zoom camera itself will need to be removed from its metal casing for installation, which also helps reduce overall weight. Mounting screws on the top side of the motors are positioned very close to the center hole, making them challenging to use with plastic parts. However, the mounting holes are included in the CAD file, so it's possible to make them work, although I opted to use epoxy glue to secure the plastic to the motors instead, and this solution worked well for me. While this entire assembly is somewhat fragile if a motor fails, the gimbal itself performs well and functions as intended when printed using ABS or PETG materials. The body parts of the gimbal are designed with snap-together tabs and slots that should provide lasting results when printed with one of these suggested materials. Additionally, there are pre-drilled holes for rubber damper bulbs, but you may need to drill four extra holes in the vibration dampener plate depending on how this is mounted.
