Brush Wash Basins
thingiverse
I watched a YouTube video from Doctor Faust that sparked an idea to create custom wash basins for cleaning paint brushes. The first design, which I built on the right and at the top, didn't quite meet my expectations, but the improved version on the left turned out to be a game-changer. After putting the initial design to the test, I quickly realized that two major flaws needed to be addressed - the joint was too low, resulting in a limited water level, and it leaked. Adjusting the joint to increase its height proved to be an easy fix. To eliminate the issue of leaking altogether, I discovered that coating the inside with polyurethane worked wonders. Since PLA plastic is notoriously water-soluble, I plan to take additional steps by applying a protective layer of polyurethane to the outside of the basins and tops as well.
