Brush Bot
thingiverse
This is an old one... should have been shared in 2014!!! It started with Alex from Tanghall Tech Club asking "what can we do with this small motor?", it was taken from a stripped down CD Player and was about the size of a pager motor. Wires already attached so no soldering with the shape of the battery box intented to retain the wires against a small coin cell. The one pictured run off on Printrbot, a coin cell and a tooth brush head we'd a Brush Bot zooming across the floor. This should suit an LR44 Battery with a 6x12 pager motor - these usual come with short wire pre-soldered (no need for the off-set load). Just clip it together. Most difficult bit is likely cutting off the brush handle - some shops will stock basic brushed 3 for 20 pence! It's a must to trim bristles at an angle to set the direction of movement... otherwise it goes nowhere. Think of the bristles like little springs... it's bouncing along and the angle directs this.
