I have upgraded the design to include a 5mm greater Z clearance and it now rides smoothly on the vacuum attachment, providing an additional 5mm of clearance. This add-on is designed for use with the "Shapeoko Vacuum Attachment for DWP611" by Lionshead, which can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2277036 I was extremely satisfied with the original vacuum attachment, but I encountered issues when cutting MDF due to fine dust not being effectively picked up. To resolve this issue, I created a brush attachment that works remarkably well. The new design snaps into place and floats slightly, preventing the brush from pushing against the Z carriage during direction changes. However, it's essential to note that I've only used it for cuts up to 12mm deep, and deeper cuts may cause issues. The brush doesn't completely enclose the bit, allowing you to see it in action as well as the swirling swarf being sucked up. I intentionally left the front open to accommodate an air jet nozzle when cutting lexan or aluminum. The 1" brush is identical to the one used in my DW660 VacJet mount for the MPCNC and can be purchased by the foot from McMaster Carr here: https://www.mcmaster.com/7900T1 I also redesigned Lionshead's collet wrench, making the socket deeper to clear the brush and slightly smaller to provide a better grip on the nut. There are two primary reasons I appreciate the vac attachment by Lionshead. Firstly, it redirects the cooling exhaust from the DWP611 away from rather than into the vacuum cone, significantly enhancing its effectiveness. Secondly, the little lever that holds down the collet lock button is extremely convenient. The brush adapter now floats approximately 5mm, ensuring it doesn't push against the Z carriage during direction changes.
