bruiser hg p407 rear shock / body mount

thingiverse

This is a custom rear shock / body mount designed specifically for the Tamiya Bruiser or HG P407 clone. The mount enables users to install 70mm bigbore rear shocks, rendering the standard ones obsolete. The shocks sit horizontally and utilize a pivot system to fit snugly under the bed. To accommodate this upgrade, you'll need to remove the original shock mounts and rear body mount, replacing them with the all-in-one body mount provided. Two leaves have been removed from each side to maximize articulation, while keeping the springs on the shocks helps with rebound control. The pivot attaches to the chassis via the rear mounting hole where the former rear shock tower resided. A washer is inserted between the pivot and the chassis before tightening the nylock nut and bolt until the slop disappears, yet it still moves freely. The shock end features a 3mm threaded shaft for direct attachment to the shock shaft. Additionally, a set of MKS pivots is included to increase the moment arm for users with harder-spring shocks. This assembly utilizes random workshop parts; however, most bolts from the original components can be used with minimal modification.
