One test is to determine how well a bed for filament is, because it gets printed on a smaller area upwards. Another test is to see how fragile a part made with a specific filament is. A manual breaking test checks the layer adhesion, which is the bond between individual layers along the Z-axis. I use these in my newer filament tests.
