Human: (Updated 2/2/2020 - Since posting these instructions, Bruce has unfortunately passed away, and the original site with the instructions has gone away. However, I was able to recover them using the Internet Wayback Machine, and I've added a PDF with the original instructions for everyone's benefit. I hope Bruce would have appreciated this effort.) This is a basic adaptation of Bruce Viney's excellent "The Matchbox" puzzle (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bruce.viney/Free%20Plans.html) tailored for laser cutters. The file is in Corel Draw format and serves as an ideal introduction to building puzzles. To get started, simply print and cut this design on a piece of 1/4-inch plywood (double the size of the original), which takes approximately 10 minutes. Assembly and gluing take about half an hour. After drying for an hour, you can proceed with sanding off any burned edges from all the rails and holders. If possible, it's best to sand just the burned parts of all holders and rails before assembling the puzzle. Ensure that your wood is precisely 1/4 inch thick. Bruce's original PDF states: "These plans are free." He also adds, "If you sell or give away this puzzle, please mention where the plans originated." The original plan was created by Bruce Viney in December 2008.
