sketchfab
Moses Brown School in Providence, RI, features a trench model of Trench 07 (4 x 2m), excavated by Brown University undergraduate students of ARCH1900: The Archaeology of College Hill. This miniature replica showcases an interior section of the home built by A. Albert Sack, a German immigrant who made Rhode Island his new home after raking in profits from several thriving wool mills in the area. Sack constructed this residence in 1884 and it stood until its demolition in 1939 when Moses Brown School incorporated the property into their grounds. Since 2015, the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World has been meticulously excavating the site, revealing a unique blend of slate foundation walls and brick-made interior walls, chimneys, and room divisions.
