Problem: Brother P-Touch Cube Plus (PT-P710BT) Label Maker sitting on a small shelf behind my monitor cuts and drops the labels to the desktop surface behind my monitor. Solution: This <strike>shelf</strike> basket supported by the P-Touch for the labels to fall onto. == V1 ================================================== When slicing, turn on it's side so you don't get a pile of spaghetti under that huge overhang. First version didn't work so well. Printed labels just fell off the side. == V2 ================================================== So, for V2 I added a wall to prevent that and made the shelf slightly wider. Also decided the shelf didn't need nearly the support I had given it. V2 worked better, but the flat shelf became an issue. The labels stopped as soon as the printer released them, hanging out in the mouth of the printer with the next label coming out over it. I'm afraid if I let that build up it might cause a jam, though maybe it would eventually push them away. == V3 ================================================== So... V3 I'm changing to a removable basket to catch the labels as they come out, to let them fall away from the printer mouth. V3 worked nicely. You don't have to tip it over for printing. The basket clips nicely to the base (just a little effort to work it on there). The printer snips the label and it falls right into the basket!. The basket/base interface is a bit tighter than I intended, so it's not easily removable, but the basket isn't too deep to reach into. Much easier than reaching over and down to the desktop behind my monitor! If I should need to print it again, I might try to loosen up that interface to make the basket more easily removable. But for now I'm content.
