Broom and Paint Handle Threads 3/4"x5
thingiverse
With my collection of paint tools, including telescoping poles, all utilizing the same standard threads, I've also discovered that this same or similar standard is used for various purposes like brooms, lightbulb grips, pool tools and gutter cleaning poles. In the USA, two common standards exist based on a 3/4" dowel (19mm). One of these standards has a pitch of 5 threads per inch while the other has 4 threads per inch. However, due to the diverse materials used in manufacturing such as wood, plastic, milled aluminum and cast aluminum tools, there is a lot of variation. These blanks are ready for use in any project with ample clearances provided and a tapering thread at the shank end that helps keep tools snugly fit regardless of thread sizing. I will also post a 4-thread version. Are there any other global standards for these pole fittings?
