Brooklyn Bridge bookend
thingiverse
I designed this myself from scratch. The only pre-existing element was the Brooklyn bridge outline, which I found online and converted into an SVG file before importing it onto my tinkercad software. Every other aspect of this design - the bookends, suspension cables, and more - I created entirely on my own. Completing this project took a significant amount of time due to my limited experience with CAD software and my perfectionistic tendencies. I'd be thrilled if you could give this design a like or add it to your collection! Unfortunately, finding time to print this out has been a challenge for me lately, given my packed printing schedule. If someone beats me to it, please share the result so I can see how it turns out! UPDATE: The mirror image is now uploaded and ready for viewing. UPDATE: I encountered an issue with the suspension cables as they're printed at an angle. When tension is applied, the cables don't stay in place. To mitigate this problem, I attempted printing one side with supports to hold each cable in position, but the outcome was even worse than before. If you have any ideas for a solution, I'd be grateful for your input! Alternatively, if you're still interested in printing this design and don't mind using some glue, let me know and I can modify the STL file so the suspension cables print separately.
