He's a skeleton who's been around for 50 years after getting lost in the infamous Florian Triangle and stumbling upon a ghost ship where he was found by the Straw Hats. This undead character has been given a new lease on life thanks to the Yomi Yomi no Mi, a Devil Fruit that grants him pseudo-immortality. He dreams of one day sailing around the world again and reuniting with Laboon at Reverse Mountain, where his good friend Crocus is waiting for him. He's the ninth member to join Luffy's crew and the eighth person to sail alongside their captain, making him not only the oldest but also the second tallest member on board. As a skilled swordsman, he fills an important role as one of two onboard musicians, with Roronoa Zoro being the other; his music is something Luffy had been looking forward to adding to their crew since they first set sail.
