Bronze Hatchet
myminifactory
This bronze hatchet originates from a Late Bronze Age wetland settlement known as Wasserburg Buchau am Federsee, located in the Biberach district of Baden-Württemberg. Archaeologists attribute it to the urnfield culture, which flourished between 1100-800 BC. The hatchet is classified as part of the Lappenbeilen category and features a noticeable casting line on one side. Its neck has been broken, while its dark patina is a testament to years spent buried in moist soil. Today, this artifact resides within the collection of the University of Tübingen's Department of Younger Prehistory and Early History.
