
Bronze Bell / Tal-y-Bont Wreck Wooden Block

A wooden rigging block salvaged from the Tal-Y-Bont wreck, also known as Bronze Bell Wreck, is now safely housed at Ty Gwyn museum in Barmouth. This site has been designated a Historic Wreck under the protections of the 1973 Wrecks Act. Any form of diving or interference within the protected area of a designated wreck constitutes a serious crime unless a license from the Welsh Assembly Government has first been obtained. A photogrammetric survey of the block was undertaken by InDepth Photography, MADU and the Nautical Archaeology Society, with financial support provided by Cadw.
