The Source of the Nijverdalse Brook. When excavating the Ravijn through the Nijverdalse Mountain in 1880 for the Zwolle – Almelo railroad, the source of the Nijverdalse brook was lost. At that time, this brook followed the path of the current rail track towards the Regge river. It's time to restore its course by building a walking-biking spiral behind the pool in the Ravijn. This 55-meter diameter structure makes it easy for walkers in the Ravijn and bikers on the F35 highway to reach the Stut without much climbing. Over 600 meters, a height difference of 12 meters is bridged with a comfortable bike path of 4 meters and a footpath of 1.5 meters. At the top, visitors are treated to a beautiful view over Nijverdal, giving them the option to cross the rail track and N35 towards Paarse Poort or Avonturen Park using a bridge. Next to the footpath in the spiral, the brook can flow down into a channel and flow through the Leo ten Brinke park towards Regge. Rijkswaterstaat has already built tunnels, viaducts, and bridges here, which they call 'Artworks' in technical jargon. We can also call the walking-biking spiral an Artwork.
