Brompton GoPro mount

Brompton GoPro mount

This is a GoPro mount designed specifically for Brompton bikes, mounting securely onto the two headset screws at the front. By attaching the camera in this way, independent from handlebar steering movement, it provides an extremely stable viewpoint. I printed this design using PLA with material support and cooling, carefully setting my PEI bed temperature to 70C, hotend temperature to 225C, and base speed to 30mm/s for optimal layer adhesion. Using high temperatures and slow speeds resulted in a much stronger bond between the layers. To refine the finish, I used an X-Acto knife to clean up the part, focusing on the hexagonal captive nut cavity. Printing with ABS might produce a more heat-resistant part, but I chose not to use it. However, using a light-colored PLA can improve the part's heat tolerance by absorbing less heat. The design was created in OpenScad (the source code is included), and it incorporates snippets from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:62800 (thanks for sharing!). If you need to adjust any dimensions, simply load the OpenScad file, modify some parameters, and generate your own STL file. I may be able to export customizing dimensions as Customizer parameters if there's enough demand. Edit: I've added a model of a straight 2/3 GoPro rod, which is a customized version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:62800 (no source code here). If you'd like to create your own customized rod, feel free to use the original design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:62800.
