Broken-Out Screw-Hole Repair Thingy
thingiverse
To fix my kitchen's loose cabinet door hinge, I discovered that the screws had slipped from their holes. To repair this issue, I used Thread_Library.scad (available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8793) to create a wider circumference for the screw. After downloading and adapting the scad file (rendering it as CGAL with F6), I printed the part in ABS (avoiding PLA due to its brittleness). The repaired screw then fit into the widened hole, tightening the cabinet door and eliminating the looseness. However, during installation, the repair piece broke into pieces; but surprisingly, it still functioned effectively, keeping the screw securely in place.
