The network port cover on my son's Acer laptop broke off, making it impossible for the UTP cable to stay connected. This handy device fixes that problem. Before installing it, I take out the small hinged door completely from the laptop. I think this adapter will fit most laptops. If not, adjusting the dimensions and possibly adding some cutouts shouldn't be too difficult if they get in the way of other ports.
