Broken Honeycomb Cube
thingiverse
This was a CAD challenge to create a 3D honeycomb infill pattern for SLA printing that would make my business cards stand out. I've designed these cubes with my contact information embossed on the top and intend to use them as 3D printed business cards at 40% scale.\r\n\r\nPrinting this design on a Form2 will yield excellent results if the bottom side, featuring diamond holes, is laid flat against the build platform then rotated 60 degrees around the X-axis. Internal supports should be disabled before proceeding.\r\n\r\nEnabling Preform to generate default supports while rotating the model around the X-axis is crucial for avoiding internal supports altogether. Although Preform may express reservations, I assure you that it will print perfectly fine. Scale this design between 30-100% to suit your preferences!\r\n\r\nWhile it's likely that this design will also work well with FDM printing (although I haven't tested it), I recommend using sizes ranging from 60-100% due to the presence of very small internal features and the need for minimal retractions.
