Broken Hart

Broken Hart

prusaprinters

Self standing hart with a hidden sign “Happy Valentines”. The sign folds inside the semi-hollow hart and the pieces are hold closed with multiple (12) 2 mm x 5 mm magnets.YouTube Video of Broken-HartThe only support required is for the sign's one side hinge. The hart halves are designed to print without any supports, if printed as shown in the images. The shafts where the links rotate are held to place with small blocks. Take care to use the correct blocks for each shaft location (see images). Use a very small amount of glue (medium CA or other non-thin glue) between the large pieces (bottom hart, left/right harts) and the small blocks holding the pins down. The shafts and the links should be glue free. The smallest shaft between the geared link and horizontal link it should not need any glue but just in case is loose fitting just put a tiny drop on the outside  only.Parts Exploded viewParts:Polymaker PolyLite 1.75 PLA Filament Red2x5mm Round MagnetsM3x16mm Flat heat SS boltBefore you glue the Sign's arms to the Hart halves, use a soldering iron to slightly melt and round the ends of the pivoting sign shafts. Make sure you do not melt both ends and they can move.Make sure to test the magnet orientation before glue to position. The pre-sliced file for the sign has a Gcode pause to change the filament from black to copper PLA or any other color you would like. The tested prints were made with PLA or PLA+ colors. Matte PLA did not work very well with the current designed tolerance.I hope you have fun printing and assembling the “Broken Hart” Happy Valentines!Nikos
