Broken Captain America Shield

One of my favorite Avengers: Endgame scenes is where Thanos shatters Captain America's shield with his sword, a moment that still sends chills down my spine. After witnessing the star-spangled hero finally lift Mjolnir, this dramatic turn of events was nothing short of heartbreaking. The shield itself is an impressive full-scale replica, massive in size and incredibly detailed. Its top third is expertly broken off, mirroring the iconic scene from the movie. I'd like to extend my gratitude to fotoianmontes on Thingiverse for designing the original shield model that served as the foundation for this project - a fantastic file worth checking out here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:963588. Printing the entire shield took approximately four days, with each piece carefully glued together and sanded smooth. Wood filler was then used to fill in any gaps or imperfections, giving the shield a rugged texture that adds to its authenticity. A coat of spray paint helped bring out the shield's colors, while watered-down black paint was applied for a realistic weathering effect. To ensure a secure fit on my left arm, I attached old belts to the back of the shield, a creative touch that adds an extra layer of realism to this impressive replica. Despite the time-consuming process, every moment spent working on this project was pure joy - I could have easily spent all day perfecting it.
