Broad Sword Letter Opener
thingiverse
I took a shot at designing something from the ground up, but don't expect this to be some sort of historical replica - it's really just an opportunity for me to see what I can do with Tinkercad. It's a completely amateur attempt.\nYou'll notice that the hilt in the STL file is different from the one in the picture. A coworker pointed out to me that the ends of the guard were upside down, so I flipped them over.\nThe scabbard looks a bit clumsy and at some point when I make version 2.0, I'll try to make it more streamlined.\nIn any case, this actually works as a decent letter opener.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: \n DaVinci Jr.\n \n Rafts: \n No\n \n Supports: \n Yes\n \n Notes: \n You'll probably need supports when printing the blade, but other than that they shouldn't be necessary.\nPost-Printing\nYou might find it necessary to trim down the part of the blade that fits into the hilt. Mine was a pretty tight fit.\nHow I Designed This\nDesigned using Tinkercad.
