British WW2 6 pounder anti-tank gun 28mm scale
thingiverse
This is a 28mm model of the British 6 pounder anti-tank gun, also used by the Americans as the 57mm ATG. It's a remake of sheptr's 3D model. I sliced the actual gun and gun shield from the carriage, added an elevation wheel to the gunner's side, and took creative liberties to create recesses for easy assembly of printed parts. Field guns like this one are actually tougher to make 3D copies of because there are so many angles and unsupported bits. I also created an axle and made recess holes in the rear side of the wheels. You must use supports when printing this model. I used supports and a 4mm brim just to be sure, being a bit of a perfectionist. Be extremely cautious removing supporting material - you don't want to damage the axle or other small parts. Check each piece in the .stl file before cutting away. I made two barrel options: one with the original straight barrel and another with the longer barrel featuring a muzzle brake deployed later in the war to counter newer ammunition.
