British Steam Gun Boat 1/300
thingiverse
The Steam Gun Boat (SGB) was a Royal Navy term referring to a class of small naval vessels used during World War II. The class consisted of nine gunboats, powered by steam, constructed from 1940 to 1942 for the Coastal Forces of the Royal Navy. They were developed in parallel with the Fairmile D motor torpedo boats ("dog boats"), specifically as a response to the need to hunt down German E-boats and also as a response to the scarcity of suitable diesel engines. While sixty were planned, only an initial batch of nine was ordered on November 8, 1940, of which seven were completed. The gun fits varied considerably, and information is hard to find on exact fits. This is a likely mid-war weapon fit: The bow features a 20mm Oerlikon, the foredeck has a 2pdr pom-pom, twin HMGs are situated amidships, two 21" torpedo tubes are also located amidships, one 20mm Oerlikon is on the engine room roof, one QF 3" HA is on the rear deck, and a 20mm Oerlikon is aft.
