This intricate 1/1800th scale replica of the Illustrious Class Aircraft Carrier boasts accuracy despite certain non- scaled features. The illustrious class boasted four aircraft carriers, a dominant force in the Royal Navy during WWII. Rather than equipping these ships with an abundance of aircraft, they relied heavily on defensive firepower including sixteen powerful four and a half-inch dual-purpose naval guns capable of dual duty in both defense against enemy aircraft and enemy surface vessels alike. Three of these formidable warships endured well into the 1950's, with one carrier serving until the 1960's. This stunning WWII-era warship model is part of my diverse collection showcasing warships from this pivotal time in history.
