The British Aircraft Corporation One-Eleven was a popular jet airliner of the 1960s and 1970s. It entered service after the French Sud Aviation Caravelle, making it the second short-haul jet to take to the skies. Domestic airlines and international operators fell in love with this stylish aircraft; half of its initial sales went to US carriers, which made the UK one of its biggest markets. This airliner stood out as one of Britain's most successful designs ever, remaining in service until widespread retirements took place in the 1990s due largely to increasing noise restrictions on planes flying over European nations. In response to these new regulations, airports had to develop ways for aircraft to reduce their noise levels and make safer landings. To improve the safety of their One-Elevens during landings, BEA/British Airways started operating a larger model in 1967 - the One-Eleven 500. They also renamed this series the Super One-Eleven due to its impressive new features that enhanced flight experiences for passengers. The cockpit of this particular plane was overhauled to resemble those used on other planes such as Hawker Siddeley's HS.121 Trident. This update helped commonality among crew and operators while providing improved performance. Additionally, the upgraded system featured more complex automated landing tools like autoland and autothrottle systems that greatly simplified procedures for pilots by streamlining pre-landing tasks. Product Features: Poser figure includes OBJ/Cr2/ Png with 10,892 polygons. Rudder's angle can be controlled manually using a single dial. Four sets of flaps are attached - Left/ Right wing sections that rotate up-down, each controllable separately through two different dials. Left/ right rear elevator sections operate independently and in reverse direction too if the model spins while turning on an axis.
