This remix of Marcusmoles' 1/100th scale early war British 2-pounder ATG is a game-changer for miniature enthusiasts. The original file by Marcus offers three fantastic options: a highly detailed model, a simplified version (which I chose to use), and a gun with an integrated base. To take the model to the next level, I upscaled it to 28mm (1/56 scale) and reinforced the front gun field with a sturdy plate on the back side of the shield. This modification not only enhances the model's stability but also makes it more durable for printing. A common issue with printed thin gun barrels is their fragility. To overcome this challenge, I removed the actual barrel from the design and created a 2mm void in the gun breech. This clever solution allows you to insert a piece of 1mm (ID) aluminum tubing, which serves as an ideal substitute for the gun barrel. With an outer diameter of 1.6mm, the tube fits snugly into the recess when glued in place using epoxy. If you prefer to print your own barrels, Tinkercad or similar software makes it easy to insert the gun barrel into the design.
