Brita UltraMax dispenser shroud
thingiverse
This component is engineered to stop the dispenser lever from being triggered unintentionally. I identified a situation where the door, or objects attached to the door, would sometimes accidentally press the lever while closing it if the water dispenser wasn't far enough back on the shelf. Clearly, I didn't want my fridge to overflow unexpectedly, so I designed this part to prevent that scenario. It appears there have been various revisions of this product. This item was created to fit the current Canadian model of the dispenser, which features a tall and narrow design with a rectangular dispensing lever. The U.S. version seems similar and is likely compatible, though I haven't had the chance to test it (if you try it and it works, please let me know in the comments). I doubt it will properly fit on the short and wide model of the filter. 2018-04-19: The part was rotated into its proper orientation for printing. A previous orientation would have required additional support structures. 2018-04-14: A minor revision (v1.1) was made to the part to fit the profile of the pitcher better and prevent it from getting stuck on the dispenser lever.
