Brita jug water filter plug - Tapered Thread
thingiverse
I've been utilizing the instructables (https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-refill-a-disposable-Brita-brand-water-pit/) water filter re-use idea for several years now, but I never got around to having a proper plug for the filter until I acquired a 3D printer! That was a game-changer. There are three Tapered Threaded Plugs available for use. The smallest is probably not practical in this application, but I've included it as it might be useful in other projects. H=length of screw excluding head. TT1: OD Top=14mm, OD Bottom =7mm, H=20mm, thread pitch 3mm TT2: OD Top=7mm, OD Bottom = 3mm, H=10mm, thread pitch 3mm TT3: OD Top=10mm , OD Bottom = 6mm, H=10mm, thread pitch 3mm TT4: OD Top=10mm , OD Bottom = 6mm, H=10mm, tighter thread pitch of 1.5mm I personally use TT3. The plug doesn't have to be watertight; in fact, it's better if it's not. Its sole purpose is to hold the activated charcoal in place.
